Brain treats tools as body parts
When we use a tool, it changes the way our brain represents the size of our body, say French researchers. Alessandro Farne, of the Universite Claude Bernard in Lyon found that after using a mechanical grabber that extended their reach, people behaved as though their arm really was longer. The reason you can brush your teeth without looking at your mouth or arm is because your toothbrush is integrated into your brain’s image of your arm, said Farne.
